In Greek mythology, the Minotaur was a creature with the head of a bull on the body of a man or, as described by Ovid, "part man and part bull." It dwelt at the center of the Cretan Labyrinth, which was an elaborate maze-like construction built for King Minos of Crete and designed by the architect Daedalus and his son Icarus who were ordered to build it to hold the Minotaur. The historical site of Knossos, with over 1300 maze like compartments is identified as the site of the labyrinth. The Minotaur was eventually killed by Theseus, the son of Aegeas. -wikipedia!!
believe it or not I actually started this a week before the history channel started doing clash of the gods. I wanted to put together an illustration portfolio of ancient mythology and gods and whatnot. Kind of a cliche concept, but still fun

Beautiful textures and an atypical character design makes Child abandonment by ~dan-duncan a really captivating illustration. (

Awe Poor Minotaur! Also love the skin textures. What mediums did you use in creating this? What was your first layer/medium? Excuse the bombardment of questions..
i just stumbled upon this while investigating the Kubert school. There is a lot of emotional resonance in this piece of art and felt a need to tell the creator that I appreciate it.
